[26] Whatever Floats Your Boat, Will Surely Sink My Ship

It seems Washizu raws are a bit of a mess no matter where you get them from. Even on Bookwalker. You'll notice (when chapters out) the double spreads do not connect as seamlessly as the entirety of Volume 4 did. They have gaps just as the shit scans available on the net had.

Example:

(Bookwalker)

(Random shit scans commonly found on the net)

Of course, side by side, Bookwalker is still such a godsend...

I could redraw this... fix it. But, I don't have the interest nor the time to do such complicated work right now. (And neither do Washizu readers wish another week would be added on top of their releases).

One thing that also makes me a bit sad is it doesn't contain any inner extra pages (character introductions), and it's chapter contents page is also lackluster compared to the physical ones.

Example:

I'm still considering posting those on Mangadex as is. Like those .5 chapters at the end of volumes. Not sure really.

Speaking of posting, if you save any pages you'll notice one annoying little thing between volumes. Their page sizes are all over the place from one volume to the next. Again, for no discernible reason.

I'm not going to deal with that either. It doesn't make a damn difference anyway and the volume itself is consistent, so why even bother!

I'm sure by volume 6 or maybe only at 8, I'll be cutting all kinds of corners.

My life goal is to finish Washizu, and I'll do it to completion!
I like the sequels ending, so I foam at the mouth thinking of the day I post it.
That doesn't confirm I'll do the sequel, I just like to fantasize.

Also, comments! What's a blog without some damn comments?! Am I right, or am I right?!
You can tell me I'm super cool, you can call me a fag, whatever floats your boat, it's all up to you. (Little bubble icon on the bottom right of posts...)
I don't have much of what you'd call a "life," so I don't think I'll have problems with moderation. And that is of course, not a challenge to anyone... and I mean no trouble by it. Thank you...

IF YOU ARE READING THIS, AND YOU ARE A READER OF WASHIZU (can't be much else i suppose), PLEASE WARN ME OF ANY MISTAKES YOU NOTICE. ESPECIALLY BLATANT ONES.

I have done a couple by now, which I notice only later. I just fixed one where I seemingly typed 3-sou instead of 5-sou. (It's for reasons like this I always keep the little tile image, though almost everyone does I think).

It's embarrassing. I do this alone and late at night. So I apologize for any stuff like this.
I even check multiple times, but being your own proofreader while groggy.... won't help much eh!

Sorry!! <(_ _*)>

[23] BELIEF IN HIS OWN JUDGEMENT, AND HIS UNWAVERING HEART!

Shit. I need to write a blog... I have a blog, so I should blog. That's the idea, right?
The damn counter is even at 77 right now. That's got to be good luck. I shouldn't miss such a great chance for blogging!!

The world is aaall about luck. Because I'm a lunatic, you can ascertain for certain, all I think about is luck. Everyday I'm Akagi in this bitch, getting fucked over by the flow.

When the only good thing in your year is scanlating Washizu, you know it's not looking good. We're 8 months into this year, and I only had 1 good month and a couple days, total. (Yes, I keep fucking count of them).

I need to keep count of them, because it's a down payment. Every single second of good luck is just another excuse to get shit fucked punched (?) in the stomach.

(me)

What I'm trying to get at is essentially, I have never gotten a single good thing in life that has not exploded in my face a while later. And Washizu is going awesome right now (as far as I'm aware), so who's to say what's waiting for me soon....
Every day I'm terrified my hard drive and every single backup I have will spontaneously combust, leaving me with all my Washizu work erased forever.

...Backups, I lied. For the effect. The truth is I don't have a single backup of anything or made any ever. The folders in my computer are all unique and non-eternal, which is what makes it so special... and... cool.

Your reading of Washizu is held hostage by me, my fragile computer, and my fragile body. I have no intention of ever making backups, or keeping myself healthy (though I do go to the gym 3 times a week and have a nice all year bulk diet ;)).

One day, I'm gonna have a heart attack, or get ran over by a truck, and you're gonna lose Washizu, so you better start praying for me every second of your lives.

WASHIZU CHAPTER 25!!!

Volume 4 finished. This makes it my first entire finished volume done entirely by myself!

I'm not sure if I'm continuing Volume 5 right this moment (especially since I need to get the raws again with the raw guy), or if I'm taking like a good rest week of anything but redrawing pages (my god! anything but that!!).

If you were to ask me a couple months ago, I wouldn't have thought I would be here.... Wow.... Wow....
That's probably not true, I've been thinking of scanlation for a long time, it just so happened I remembered Washizu recently and felt an urge to.

Uhh...? If you liked this chapter read One Outs. It's pretty good. How their scanlators went 100+ chapters making baseball translations... I don't know. I could barely do one.

Considering there's ONE chapter translated (Lololol) people know that next volume is a long arc (but there's a one chapter before that of an isolated story).

If you (the readers) have any problems with any of what I'm doing or how I do certain things, now before the next volume is the best time to tell me, so I don't ever have to do any big jarring changes between random chapters.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

RYUUIISOU SCANLATIONS
translated/cleaned/typeset by 1 (one) guy

[21] WASHIZU CH.24 : The Public's Public Opinions are Public; So they're Public, okay?

Chapter 24 finished!

It's one of my favourite chapters, so I think I put some love into it.
Of course, I always put love into it, because I love Washizu and I LOVE the reader.

The thing about this whole Scanlations thing is that the reader is the most important. It's always about what the reader will think, what the reader will understand, more than you/the scanlator/me. Because the reader is the one who fucking reads.

I don't think I do a very good job at that. I mean most of the time I'm doing this while I'm very tired, late at night, so it means I do a couple of dumb things.
EXAMPLE:
I put a TL for the obvious ship name of the obvious ship that just arrived and they were to told to get on and said: "the name of their ship." Uh? Yeah? You'd think so, right?

Maybe I wanted to explain the -maru suffix, for ship names, at the time I wrote it. But I don't remember, nor do I think it's really necessary.

Sometimes I fear it's like this. But I'm going against TL notes for now (for Mahjong), because people know! I know and I don't even play mahjong anymore!!

One thing that confused me getting into this is that I thought Washizu would have already been translated by now. I mean, it's Washizu!
(I remember when Kaiji Part 1 wasn't translated).

The other is whatever the latest specific group was doing regardings Washizu. The last arc?!
Are you serious?

>By a majority vote between the three of us members of (omitted), we decided to start scanlating at chapter 45 (final chapter of Volume 7, Part 1 of the “Prison Ward 6” arc which is the series finale) instead of starting off where the previous scanlation group left off.

A vote? There shouldn't even be a vote. People want to read Washizu from where they stopped, there's your vote. The people's vote!

Another another thing is that I didn't antecipate Washizu to be so closely followed, but the attention was pretty instant. (I should have, it's FKMT)

I asked and you (the reader) answered: releases are now single chapters as I finish them.

Volume ends next chapter!

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

RYUUIISOU SCANLATIONS
translated/cleaned/typeset by 1 (one) guy

CHAPTER 23 FINISHEEEED!!!

I should have uploaded them to Mangadex as I speak! I'm not sure because I write these posts at random times, not exactly when I finish!

4 CHAPTERS. ARC FINISHED. I'm very happy. Feel free to complain about the quality of my work though, I wouldn't mind. There's only 2 chapters left for this volume, and then I can finally say I finished an entire vol all by myself. I vibrate with happiness even just thinking about it. It's kinda scary.

There's.... a baseball chapter. Ghhhh... Only to slow my good pace!

I don't think it matters since people seem quite patient. (After 5 years, what's a couple weeks right?)

Random thing:
I just entered a scanlation thread on /a/ recently, which I hadn't done in a while, and I was appalled by two things.
1. Christ almighty! The mangas that there's an effort out there to translate sure look fucking boring. (I always had this opinion).
2. Apparently... sleazebags are now using AI to redraw their pages! What a doozy!

There's one page which is a pile of coins and gold bars, where I did such an embarrassing job of working with that it might as well be AI generated (LOL). <s>I say this, but I might go over and actually redraw it later. Whereas right now it's mostly clone tool spam (controlled spam, to look okayish).</s> (IM NOT DOING THAT)

I mean, come on people! Have some decency! Why won't you spend hours of your day and night redrawing complex pages! While also translating and typesetting! And rereading so many times to make sure it flows well that your brain facking melts (and it's still really only passable!)!!

Jeez, I wonder why.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

RYUUIISOU SCANLATIONS
translated/cleaned/typeset by 1 (one) guy

[19] WASHIZU CH.22

Chapter 22 finished.

The chapters have slowed down a little bit, this is because I have been playing stupid videogames. Now I only work on chapters for a couple hours, instead of many many couple hours. SORRY!
I already said I was lazier, but now it's not bed it's vidya.

In general, I'm really REALLY disappointed with my current pace. I'm not doing as many pages as I want a day (redrawing, typesetting).

Speaking of, I just realized I didn't know the difference between cleaning and redrawing. I thought it was all the same thing. So for the new volumes after 4 I'm not actually doing any cleaning, only the very hard redrawing. I get them already in really good quality.

No, I'm not changing the little blurb thingy.

You might also see a spice of professionalism on the blog now. Indeed it's mostly scanlation now. This is because now there's people, and people are SCARY. (lol) I was fucking around earlier as I waited for Mangadex and now it'd be embarrassing...

<s>Are newer photoshop versions good for scanlation? Or roughly the same? CS5 is starting to PISS ME OFF. Everytime I close my laptop and come back, it's completely fucked. Any brush has this problem where I click nothing happens and then it takes a while to start dragging. I don't know... it's just a mess.</s>

NVM. CSP 4 the WIN.

I wonder sometimes if my questions are rhetorical or not. Blogs are really interesting things.

I'm starting to wish this place had comments, but it's a static site. (I might start asking questions like that on the Discord, I don't know!) I'm kind of too busy with the translation to see any of that...

One thing that I will actually discuss with myself later will be translation notes. I have one for a specific yaku that I really think most people won't know (not even the common reading, I don't think). But even so, there's some more specific ones anyway all throughout this chapter. It's all easily googleable, so i'm not sure. I mean, surely most mahjong readers know Pao (the liability)? I'd like to think so!

Onwards to 23! Then I can do my batch upload.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

RYUUIISOU SCANLATIONS
translated/cleaned/typeset by 1 (one) guy

They provide raws and ask for no credit! Two kind souls! Oh.... how can I thank them...!! Their god like kindness...!

Anyway, on a serious note (no funny voices), I know from the rest of my blog I'd seem like the kind of person who would post them all here in my blog despite them saying they did not want to be put down or whatever, but I assure you I am no such devilish fiend, and no general asshole.

I am sorry you had to read my awful messages, and my eccentric typings. Thanks.

The world would come to a halt without these people. That's what I say!

[12] Delays are Inevitable

It seems that I have finally gotten my chapters on Mangadex (and consequently every scraper site). Too long! 5 days or so, while they say 24 to 48 hours! My ass!

I would love to continue Volume 4 right now. It seems there's more people who care (instantly) about Washizu than I anticipated, and the chapters have only been out for half a day at the time of writing this. But alas, the raws are the ugliest things I have put my eyes on, and I wish not to touch these if at all possible...

Either way, I am incredibly busy with college for at least the next week. If I'm unlucky I might need to do a make-up test. Sadly, it is not because of translating manga (that would actually make me feel better), but personal affairs.

I had to go to campus on a day I didn't have class, because this and that, and then I'll still have to skip a class to go to back to the eletronics lab to get some stupid project finished. Yada-yada! No one cares (not even me).

Scratch all everything, you have to read nothing. MANGA WON'T BE TRANSLATED FOR 1-2 WEEKS, BUT I WILL COME BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO SCANLATING. That's all. Why meander, right?

Perhaps one day, you will get your manga. One day... So hold the hope close to your heart, okay? <3

I'm still thinking about that software review. Spoiler alert, it's a cool wallpaper widget I have from around 2003 or so. It's... cool, okay?

Until then I'll

(i really want to put as many images as i can
from now on.)

[11] People Who are Bored are Bound To Do Something Stupid

My translations aren't even out yet (DAMN YOU MANGADEX) and not a single soul has read my blog, and I'm already getting a bit burnt out of writing.
I'm not the writing or speaking type, I suppose it makes enough sense. I'd imagine it just means I'll do a blog post once a week or every two weeks (not counting chapter updates, if I do them quicker, although I still plan on releasing only entire volumes), and 3 poems or so every same time frame.

It also means I can cut the poems up as I like them better, and throw out the trash. (every poem is trash, yes, but I mean the really gross wet trash from the slightly gross piece of vegetable, yk?)

Any sort of too verbal too much "out-there" energy was simply a fluke. A slightly manic fluke born from being a bit too lonely and a bit too crazy. No crimes there...

(i look like this, not only now, but always)

I've also hit a slump. So everything I ever made or experienced in life has turned disgusting and filthy, and I have no urge to do anything. It's at times like these that if someone were messaging me I would end up ignoring them. (sorry)
It could also be extreme paranoia that makes me end up not replying to a message, but that's not... related... to blog... posting... or translation... hm.

Yes, you are reading an insane person's blog.

I'll do...
a software review soon.

I can't even think of a good or funny way to end this post.
So
I'll
just

[10] Computer Lovers Should Treat Their Computer Better. It Wouldn't Save What You Save, Had It Known...

I still have so many weird things on my computer. So many weird things I've saved. It's best that no one can see it. (except for maybe Microsoft)

Whenever people send me pictures, I always save them. I'm not sure why. I have a folder full. There's a lot of desks, and setups. Girls are always liars, inconspicuous about their compliment fishing. Guys are the same, but only if they think you're a girl. I should have lied to the last one that did, I could have manipulated him, I think.
Everyone's the same kind of gross.
The rest is things I actually like, from people I actually liked talking to.

But I delete the penises, even I'm not that dirty. I don't get why anyone would send those sorts of pics. They're all brown tips, if you were wondering. Mine is a pretty pink. (lol)

It used to be that you were certainly a guy if you were using an anime girl as a profile picture. Now, people ask, as if it's confusing! Of course I'm a guy! Why would you think otherwise!?
It happened to me thrice this year. People I'd rather not talk to. Certain normies.
Thrice, of course, not counting the two people that thought I was a girl and sent me their penises.

I also save messages. If I talk to someone for a long time.
[4] If you see a Normal Person with your tastes, lock your doors and turn off your router. They've gotten better at Being You.

Sometimes it's easy to forget that you do also enjoy popular things, and your stomach might turn when you see a normie enjoying them despite that.

"Can you really understand what you are seeing?", sometimes you may find the answer to this rhetorical question over the normiebo is a certain "No."
Sometimes it may seem "Yes," but it is actually a "No."
And if it's a "Yes," then perhaps you just haven't found what makes it a "No" yet...

I don't say it out of snobbery. Although, it may sound like it. I would truly, truly from the bottom of my heart, and more than anyone in this world, want to be able to say "Yes," to see that true understanding.

I have yet to. I have yet to ever look at a normie, recognise it as one and not be proven wrong in my conviction.

I would do anything, anything in this whole wide world, just to get away from all these normies. They surround you from all sides. You might think you finally got away from them, and then one will find a way to you in the most obscure possible 0.001 percenter of a possible way.

They hide. They've gotten better at hiding as more of them exist.
You want them to not be normies. You feel a burning betrayal in your heart to share moments and find out about normality. They will vomit all over your memories.

Normality. As if I want any of it. Blow it all away!

Some would be quick to call me an extremist. They would realise their fathers, their mothers, their friends, their confidants, can be normies and still be "respected". If you happen to share that opinion. I would much rather you'd also drop dead. You are a normie.

You can try to cut yourself off from them; declare yourself abnormal. It won't come true.

A world full of fake pretend losers. They might not be the normies of the utmost circle, but even in a slightly deeper cut circle, they are still at the edge of it's circumference, or close to it. They will still have peers.

I disdain you and your social spheres.

I will be at the centre of the circles for as long as I live. No matter how many circles you go down I'll never be at the edge of a circle. Too weird for normals, and too weird for even weirdoes.

Someone without a peer group at any level.
Alien even among aliens.

You will come to find that normies have perfected being you. They have perfected your weirdness in it's most acceptable assets, and they have far surpassed the act of being you. They have your symptopms but not your disease, thus they are better than you. You have become meaningless.

[1] BLOGS & Lasik : They have a lot more in common than you may think

Now all I can end up wondering is: what in the fuck am I making a static blog for? Wasn't I supposed to be translating manga?

I actually quite love and enjoy the process. So what am I twiddling around making a blog for? I really can't answer any of these questions. I don't think I have any sort of appropriate answer.

My face is flushed red from embarrassment even. Believe me.

All jokes aside, I suppose the reason is that simple blogs like these really can have an unique charm I've always liked.

One time, I went on a really old (maybe 15 years old?) Japanese website, and it had a very long diary spanning years of a guy's journey and experiences with his Lasik surgery. I had been thinking of getting Lasik (although, I opted for contacts now), and it was a very interesting read despite how old it was.
He updated it for years and years. Not only after a couple days, weeks or months. Which is really what made it stand out.

Yeah... good luck finding that sort of consistency anywhere on the modern web!

I only perused his site, cause I wanted to send an email for the source code of an old software of his. I did do that, but apparently he couldn't share because it was now under some company.

>SAIKOUDOGG様
>
>お返事が大変遅くなり申し訳ございません。　, he says.

...Why did I put that as my name anyway?

"Would you really trust 'SAIKOUDOGG' with your manga?" Make that a PSA!

They don't have anything in common, if you were wondering.
